A Passport

When You Can Apply for a Passport

You may apply for a passport between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Passport applications will not be accepted after 3:00 p.m. 


What to Bring 

You must bring a photocopy of evidence of citizenship with you when you go to apply for a passport. Acceptable evidence includes: certified birth certificate, naturalization certificate, consular report of birth abroad, and certificate of citizenship. You must bring a photocopy; the Department of State will keep the copy you submit. A second certified copy can be submitted instead of a photocopy.
The photocopy must follow these guidelines:
1. Must be legible.
2. Must be on white, 8.5" x 11" standard paper.
3. Must be copied using black ink.
4. Cannot be double sided (double sided original documents must be printed on two pages).
The Court Clerk's Office cannot make a copy of your evidence of citizenship for you. 


Cost of Applying for a Passport

Administrative Fee (State): State fees are subject to change. For the most recent fee, please visit the Department of State (Fees).


Filing Fee (Local): The Court Clerk's Office charges $25 per passport. Acceptable forms of payment are cash, money order, cashier's check, debit card or credit card (no personal checks).


Expedited Fee: Expediting costs extra. If you need the passport expedited, contact the Court Clerk's Office at 580-355-4017.
