BRYAN BRIDGES - FEB 2011

The February 2011 Comanche County Employee of the Month is always very dedicated and genuinely cares about the citizens in his responsible territory. Whether normal day-to-day operations and maintenance, or disaster incidents such as floods and winter storms, he is always concerned about the citizens’ property access and safety. But during the most recent winter storms, Bryan Bridges took his job responsibility to another level as he demonstrated excellent leadership among his peers.

When most employees are hunkered down underneath their warm blankets, enjoying a day off from work, grader operators and county road crew employees put extra layers of clothes on and literally “hit the streets”. They often put in additional work hours during winter storms, in an effort to clear the roadways for the citizens.

Bryan Bridges has been an employee of Comanche County for 24+ years. Due to his work ethic and knowledge of his duties, he knows where the problem areas are during weather events. Bryan uses this knowledge in order to prioritize his response and create access not only for the citizens, but more importantly for emergency personnel. While his grader area was the worst hit area in the County, Bryan responded by guiding his fellow employees to problem areas and coordinating grader operations in response to the recent winter storm.

This is no surprise to his supervisors who say he is a very safety-oriented and responsible employee. As a matter of fact, they have come to expect this out of Mr. Bridges. "He is one of the most talented grader operators in the State of Oklahoma," said Kenny Curry, eastern district foreman. “Bryan is an excellent choice for Employee of the Month.”
