Veterans Day Closure

The Comanche County Courthouse will be closed on Friday, November 10th, in observance of Veterans Day. However, the Election Board Office will be open from 8:00 am to 6:00pm on that day for early voting. You must enter and exit through the north door, all other doors will be locked. Also, parking on the west side will be blocked off while a crane crew helps to install a new chiller for the courthouse. You may park on the north, south, or east sides of the building, or in the portion of the mall parking lot closest to the Detention Center. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Comanche County Annual Chili Cook-off - 2017 Results

Our Annual Chili Cook-off was a great success! We had a great turn-out of employee made chili, cornbread, and deserts. For our chili contest, Lynn Bentley of the County Clerk's Office won 3rd place, the Comanche County Treasurer Rhonda Brantley won 2nd place, and Michelle Whipp of the Sheriff's Office won 1st place. On Monday, County Clerk Carrie Tubbs announced that $1,005 was raised in the proceeds to be donated to United Way. The left over chili was donated to the C. Carter Crane Homeless Shelter.

For our canned food contest, which wrapped up during the Chili Cook-off, Team 2 (comprised of the Courthouse offices, the OSU Extension office, the Detention Centers, and Emergency Management) collected the most cans with 1,949. Team 1 (comprised of District 1 and 2) collected 1,685 cans for a total of 3,634 of donated food to the Lawton Food Bank!
