Mr. Mucker turns 82 on the job at courthouse

Matthew Mucker usually keeps a low profile as he works at the Comanche County Courthouse, quietly emptying trash cans from every office while exchanging pleasantries with the employees. Tuesday was no different— except that Mucker was celebrating his 82nd birthday.

“He very well may be the oldest working person in Comanche County,” said Wendell Durham, a courthouse reporter.

While there’s no way to verify Mucker is the oldest working person in the county, it would be difficult to question that he is probably the most beloved employee in the building.

Trail Road work begins!

Eastern District Comanche County Commissioner Gail Turner announced Monday that county workers have begun work to complete the Trail Road project.  Turner stated they received a letter from the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) advising they can proceed with the project.

County workers will start at the north end of Trail Road, working south in two-mile sections, completing the necessary dirt work in preparation for paving, which is being done by T&G Construction.  The portions of Trail Road which are being worked on will be CLOSED for safety reasons.
