The August 2010 Employee of the Month is the prototype employee.  Her leadership and dedication, not just during times of disaster but day-in and day-out, are what makes her special.  She never meets a stranger and will go above and beyond to help any citizen in need, even calling elderly citizens to say hello and periodically check on them to make sure they are okay.

Flu shots no longer free
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The state of Oklahoma is ending the practice of offering free flu shots at health department sites statewide. The state will now charge $25 for the seasonal flu shot. The fee is projected to raise about $750,000. Vaccine manager Dorothy Cox with the state Health Department says the state spent $1.5 million last year for 195,000 seasonal flu shots.

Passport fees to increase

The Comanche County Court Clerk’s Office has been notified by the U.S. Department of State passport fees will increase beginning Tuesday, July 13.  The U.S. Department of State, who determines all fees associated with passports, stated in a recent letter the 35 percent increase in fees will enable their department to keep up with technology, implement fraud prevention initiatives and keep up with the increasing demand in passports.
