COMANCHE COUNTY COURTHOUSE SET TO OPEN
Lawton, Oklahoma – Central District Commissioner, Johnny Owens, met with elected officials in Comanche County Courthouse today to decide the re-opening of the Comanche County Courthouse. At this time, it has been decided that the courthouse will open to the public on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
While occupancy will be limited to 100 people, social distancing and masks will continue to be utilized for the safety of the county employees and the public. Additionally, each person entering the courthouse will have to undergo a temperature screening. The elected officials encourage the citizens to continue using electronic communications, when possible, with the various offices as well as the drop boxes at the main entrance to conduct business with the courthouse. This will help in limiting the number of citizens inside the building.
The courthouse has been closed to the public since the close of business on November 25th, 2020 due to a rise in Covid-19 cases.
Employees of the courthouse are anxious for the re-opening and look forward to settling into a sense of normalcy.
The Comanche County Courthouse will be open beginning February 16, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
